hoopla Movies, TV, Music, and eBooks: How to Use Hoopla with a TV

What's all the hoopla? Stream free movies and TV shows to your PC, MAC or mobile device. Get the app and watch offline. All you need is your library card. ONLY AVAILABLE TO LVCCLD TAX DISTRICT RESIDENTS.

HOOPLA ON YOUR TV

The simplest way to watch movies from Hoopla on your television is by connecting your laptop or compatible tablet or smartphone device directly to your television. All you need is the appropriate cables. The cables you will need will depend on the type and age of your laptop/device and television. Hoopla does not work currently with Roku.

Here are some ways we have tested to watch Hoopla movies on your television:

Apple TV with AirPlay : A feature with the iPhone and iPad in which you can stream the video wirelessly to the TV: (Video coming soon) Tip: If AirPlay is not an option in your control area make sure that both the Apple TV and iPad/iPhone are connected to the same wireless network.

Laptop & Chromecast : Chromecast is digital media streaming adapter that you can cast your laptop Google Chrome webpage to a television. You will also need the Google Cast extenstion for Google Chrome.

Apple Products

To connect an iPad or iPhone to your TV, you will need the following things:

1. Digital A/V adapter
2. A display or television with an HDMI port
3. An HDMI cable

1. A Micro USB to HDMI Adapter (each phone or tablet has a specific adapter, Ask Us for help)
2. A display or television with an HDMI port
